GOD'S OPERATIVE

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. I Timothy 1:15,16

Jesus Christ came into this world to save us from our sin and to set us free from the curse of the law! The apostle Paul's life was a pattern for us as well as the Lord's for us to copy what God did through them and to set us on a journey to make disciples our primary mission!

God is calling all believers to preach the gospel and to testify of the grace and glory they have experienced in their lives in order to save the sinner. The next morning after I was saved I began to testify to my friend of what God did for me and he eventually gave his life to Jesus! This is our calling, to tell the story of our lives and testify of God's grace given to us.

Revelation tells us that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. This is our time in history to see multitudes saved, delivered and made into disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ!

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. I Timothy 2:3-6

GOD'S OPERATIVE

Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. John 21:3-6

Obedience is better than sacrifice as the scripture states and when we obey we are blessed! Are you fishing on the right side of the boat? If you are not catching anything, you might not be fishing where the Holy Spirit is leading!

Jesus was teaching the disciples a valuable lesson on being led by the Holy Spirit, something they should have known after following Jesus for over three years! If you are out for a catch, no matter whether it is souls, money or whatever you are believing for, you must be led by God's Spirit! The sons of God are led by the Spirit of God!

After confessing that they fished all night and caught nothing, Jesus said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat!" They did and they caught one hundred fifty-three fish! This is the benefit of being led by Holy Spirit's voice and obeying what He says!

Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” John 21:18

GOD'S OPERATIVE

“Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. Luke 5:4-6

Sometime around 1987 the Lord spoke to me about going to the Philippines on a mission trip with some friends and meet a man who was a missionary there. He said, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." I checked the water depth around the Philippines and it is 35,000 feet deep in some places!

Upon arriving in Manila after a seventeen-hour flight we spent the night there and then the next day met Larry Neese, the brother of Junior Neese, the man who would pray with Mary Ann and I over the boy who died of an overdose in my home many years to come in the future. We spent thirty days on the Luzon island preaching, teaching and ministering to local pastors and their flocks. It was the most open I had ever seen people for the gospel and they were hungry for God's word, many of whom were poor and needy. One night in a service I laid hands on a young lady who came for prayer and she immediately fell backwards on concrete without anyone to catch her and she just laid there with a divine smile on her face, unharmed!

We also went into areas where there were lepers and we prayed for them, we baptized those who were saved in the river and preached in many open-air venues. One night the locals turned off the lights on us wanting us to quit preaching but we did anyway! It was a glorious trip and I even considered moving there because of the hunger they had for God's word! If God speaks to you about missions by all means GO! It will change your life!

For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken; and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men.” So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him. Luke 5:9-11

GOD'S OPERATIVE

Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! John 4:35

The fields are certainly white for the harvest but they are also black, brown, yellow, and red, people who need Jesus! I am afraid the media has turned most against people and because of lawlessness, many hearts have become cold to the thought of any of these thugs and protesters had a chance to be saved! But Jesus said, "Love your enemies!"

We are in the midst of spiritual war with the powers of darkness, a battle between good and evil and it is hard to discern the truth sometimes in the darkness of war! It is easy to hate the radical left with all of its nonsense and lawless deeds, but they are lost souls who need the love of Jesus! I confess my heart is not as soft as it was when I began this fight but the Holy Spirit in Me still compels me to keep trying to love the un-lovely!

My old friend Tommy Shaw, an evangelist, lawyer, and district attorney from Oklahoma was anointed to see people saved who someone already had labored as the word says and he was entering their labor. I can't tell you the times we would go to a restaurant and the waitress would come up and Tommy would say to them, "You have been thinking about getting saved haven't you?" Immediately tears would run down their cheeks and they would say, "Yes!" And they would give their heart to Jesus!

And he who reaps receives wages and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.” John 4:36-38

GOD'S OPERATIVE

When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:34-37

For one to follow Jesus, one must first be led by the Holy Spirit and He will always lead us to the cross to die! The Lord spoke this to me one day about leadership, "For one to lead, one must first be led to lead those he leads to be led!" That was a profound statement of pure truth and revelation.

When one is saved the Holy Spirit comes in to renovate His new home and set up shop to do His Father's business! Remember, Christ in us! If He is truly in us He will do the things He did when He was on the earth. We have the mind of Christ and if His mind is in us we will think of those things that He thinks! This is not rocket science, it is simple gospel truth that a man who is born again actually becomes Christ (anointed one) in the earth, His body, and the expression of Himself!

We are the "Hope of Glory" to a world lost and dying in the darkness of this age, when their only hope of receiving the glory of eternal life is from us to whom Jesus said, GO! This is God's will for every believer, to lay down his life for the lost and to make disciples!

"For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels." Mark 8:38

GOD'S OPERATIVE

"There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom." Luke 16:19-23

It is my own personal belief that the rich man in this story could very well be the "Rich Young Ruler" grown-up who Jesus delivered the gospel to! Anyway, it doesn't matter, what matters is that the rich man in this story went to Hell for breaking the second greatest commandment by not loving his neighbor, Lazarus.

This story can also represent the modern-day church that doesn't concern themselves with the poor of this world, instead of going after the rich and affluent to fill their cathedrals of complacency! Poor ole Lazarus was just wanting some crumbs falling from the rich man's table, but he was ruining the view for the rich man. With this poor beggar laid at his gate, day in and day out he had no excuse for ignoring his need!

Finally, Lazarus died and went to Paradise and the rich man died and went to Hades, a place of torment and everlasting punishment! The rich man cried out to Abraham to warn his five brothers lest they also come to this place of torment but Abraham reminded him that they also have God's word and for them to hear it for themselves.

“Then he said, ‘I beg you, therefore, father, that you would send Lazarus to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ ” Luke 16:27-31

GOD'S OPERATIVE

Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.” Luke 12:16-21

This is where most people miss the message of the gospel believing that once they are saved they are to go about their lives storing up their riches and working their whole life only to leave it to their kids who will probably end up squandering it!

It is not a sin to be rich, it is a sin when riches possess your heart! The most important thing in your life is to be led by the Holy Spirit and not by your own flesh or by others who would take advantage of your generosity! Greedy preachers who encourage their flocks to stay and sit, never training or equipping them, but only wanting them for their money will have a special place in Hell!

I learned early on that God is our life and provision and what He calls us to do, He provides for. He had to take me to a cemetery to call me to die to the world and the lust of the flesh when He ordained me for ministry and from that time on He has graciously provided for the work He has called me to do!

For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Luke 12:30-34

GOD'S OPERATIVE

Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.  Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.  Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side." Luke 10:30-32

It is inevitable that you will have a chance to be a good Samaritan sometime or maybe many times in your life. Today however because of the increase of lawlessness most people's love will grow cold and they will choose not to help someone in need because of fear!

Loving your neighbor is the second greatest commandment in the Bible and God will test your heart to see if you will obey His word or not. My first test came early on in my walk when I saw a man in the weeds, dirty, sunburned and homeless. As I proceeded to pass him by, the Holy Spirit convicted me, reminding me about the Bible study I had just taught on loving God and my neighbor. I immediately turned around and picked the man up and was going to take him to my home and meet his need.

On the way I questioned him about his life and why he ended up homeless but as he answered I was thinking about what I could do for him to get him back into life! As we turned on the road that led to our farm he abruptly said to me, "Let me out!" Startled, I said what's wrong and he said he was scared because he had been on the streets so long. I told him to go to a men's mission down the street and said I would be back in a few minutes. I rushed home grabbed some clothes and went to the mission and asked where the big guy was and they said they hadn't seen anyone and then it hit me, he was an angel sent to test my heart!

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. Hebrews 13:2

GOD'S OPERATIVE

And behold a certain lawyer stood up and tested Jesus saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Luke 10:25

The lawyer who asked the question about eternal life knew the answer but was testing Jesus to see what He would say. The lawyer was well versed in the law of Moses so Jesus asked him what is written in the law and what is your reading of it?

The lawyer began to quote from Deuteronomy 6:5 stating the most important fact in the Bible that also fulfills all scripture! "Love God with all of your heart!" Jesus told him he had answered correctly and said, "Do this and you will live!" This is what eternal life is all about, a love relationship that involves all of your heart, mind, and strength, not just praying a prayer or joining a church or being baptized, but surrendering all of your life to the Father through Jesus Christ!

Then Jesus told the lawyer that he also had to love his neighbor as himself, but wanting to justify himself he said, "And who is my neighbor?" Then Jesus proceeded to tell him the story of the "Good Samaritan!"

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. I Corinthians 13:4-8

GOD'S OPERATIVE

"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:17,18

God's promise for us to walk in the gifts and power of Holy Spirit is for every believer to GO and signs and wonders will follow them! The signs are tools and weapons for us to use just as Jesus taught His disciples to use as they went about preaching the gospel!

Throughout my 40 year journey with Jesus I have seen these signs manifest in my life as I needed them as they also did in the lives of the disciples. Casting out demons, healing the sick and speaking in tongues is normal for the believer. Taking up serpents without harm is God's protection for us as well as drinking anything deadly, unaware! WARNING! Both of these signs have been perverted by the devil, leading people to be bitten and poisoned, by tempting God!

As you go in faith as the word says and believe, these signs will follow you and God will confirm His word to you. The more you exercise His signs, wonders and gifts of the Holy Spirit the more frequently they will manifest building your faith and confidence in the power and anointing of God!

And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen. Mark 16:20

GOD'S OPERATIVE

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15

The gospel of assimilation, meaning, to absorb into a cultural tradition has been spread to most of the known world, an obscure message that leads people to think because they showed up and went to church that somehow salvation entered them. This is what the apostle Paul said to the church at Galatia, "Who bewitched you?"

I was watching a documentary about several ancient churches in Africa carved out of solid stone believed to be built by angels. Thousands of people came from all over, some walking for weeks to worship at this sight and at Christmas even more would come, staying up all night singing and praising God! Sounds like pure devotion but as many were interviewed and asked why they walked so far to come to this church they answered and said, "So that God would take notice and be pleased with them!"

They were deceived by a false gospel, sounded good because everyone wants God pleased with us, but that is a lie and a gospel of works. The gospel is good news, that our sins were washed clean by the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and it was not by works or being good, but by faith and repentance that we are saved!

"He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned." Mark 16:16

GOD'S OPERATIVE

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 24:19,20

God's Operative is to GO! Christianity is not a static organization, it is a living breathing entity commanded by the Lord Himself to GO! The very word dynamic means physical force producing motion and the physical force is the Holy Spirit in us!

When one is born again the Holy Spirit enters his spirit and immediately he is a son of God with the same anointing as the Lord Jesus Christ! The anointing leads us into ministry, it breaks the yoke of evil and gives us supernatural power to overcome and make replicas of the Lord Jesus. This is our destiny, our call, and the great commission to GO and obey, rather than sit and stay!

Imagine the power to produce a harvest if the millions of church folks who are glued to the pew would suddenly un-hook their religious seat belts and obey the great commission to Go! The world would be turned upside down and millions would be saved and the ministry of making disciples would become a full-time job for leadership instead of making a name for themselves!

Later Jesus appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. Mark 16:14

EQUIPPED TO SERVE

For there were about five thousand men. Then He said to His disciples, “Make them sit down in groups of fifty.” And they did so, and made them all sit down. Then He took the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. Luke 9:14-16

This is our ministry, "Divine Multiplication! God expects us to multiply everything He gives us in order to show the world His provision for His people! We are to multiply the Word, our money and we are to multiply souls for the kingdom.

In the parable of the talents, He gives us an illustration of this as one was given five, another two and still another one and He went on a journey expecting His money to be multiplied on His return. The first two men multiplied their talents but the third didn't and His Master said, "You wicked lazy slave!" He preceded to tell him that he should have at least put His money in the bank so that it would have accrued interest.

Jesus showed the disciples this principle with the loaves and fishes as He blessed what they had and gave it out and fed five thousand people. We also have this ministry, to give to live and share what we have with others so that we are truly God's sons and daughters!

So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them. Luke 9:17

EQUIPPED TO SERVE

When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, "Send the multitude away that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here." But He said to them, "You give them something to eat." Luke 9:12,13

Jesus had just sent them out to preach and heal diseases after giving them power and authority over all the demons and they are upset over not having enough food! I can sense some frustration in the Lord's voice because His disciples came to Him wanting to send the multitude away.

They were not used to walking in the supernatural, being carnal in their thinking, and looking at the natural with worldly eyes. So, leaning on their own understanding they didn't even think of asking God to multiply their food. The church today has the same problem, never stepping out of their boats of unbelief and always leaving everything up to their pastor, all they know to do is sit and let someone else do it.

Jesus was about to teach them the miracle of multiplication, the principle of giving to live! When we were in residential ministry with 35-40 mouths to feed we learned the keys to give out of our need and we gave more than 50% of everything that came in and God always took care of us and met the needs of many others as well! The true church of Jesus Christ must get back to the divine principals of kingdom living in order to survive in these stressful times!

"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." Luke 6:38

EQUIPPED TO SERVE

Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Luke 9:1,2

Jesus led His disciples by example, displaying His power to heal and deliver as well as the ability to perform miracles, signs, and wonders in front of the multitudes. Seminaries don't teach this and there are very few leaders I know of who teach their people the ministry of Jesus.

When I surrendered to the Lord as a disciple, the Holy Spirit began to teach and train me in the various ministries of healing and deliverance, all of which is to lead others to Jesus. The Lord sent His disciples out to be led also and they learned to be like their Master by "On the job training!" Someone needs healing, you heal them, "How?" However, the Holy Spirit tells you to do it! There is not an A, B, C of healing, or casting out demons to follow, it is by the leading of whatever the Holy Spirit tells you to do!

Naaman, commander of the Syrian army and mighty man of valor was a leper. Naaman learned that a man named Elisha could heal him and so he went to his home and Elisha told him to dip in the Jordan river seven times and he would be healed. Naaman was furious, wanting Elisha to heal him the way his own understanding told him it ought to be done, but his servants told him that if he obeyed he would be healed! Reluctantly he obeyed and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child!

So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere. Luke 9:6
