HOPE

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

The confession of our confident expectation (hope) of obtaining eternal life is solidified by the blood covenant written in the Savior's blood, given freely to anyone who would dare to believe!

God who cannot lie sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to be sacrificed for us who were separated from the Father by the sin of Adam. All sin was washed away by the shed blood of Christ, past, present and even future sins committed by those who would repent and make Him Lord!

We who believe are signed, sealed and delivered by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and we can confidently confess that God's promise to us is true and faithful!

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. I Corinthians 1:9

HOPE

Therefore having been justified (pardoned) by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1,2

Our eternal hope is forever settled in Heaven, being washed from our sins we stand in the very presence of the Most High, declared righteous! We who have believed are delivered from the wrath to come (Hell) by the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ!

We have no need to fear whatever the world throws at us, being supernatural new creations in Christ, forgiven and delivered, nothing can separate us from God's love. We are anchored in the harbor of Heaven's splendor and glory!

The things we experience on our journey with Christ produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit and develops our divine character making us more like Jesus!

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; (endurance) and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3,4

HOPE

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27

The hope of glory comes from knowing that Jesus Christ is in fact, in you! So, how do we know? When one is born again, the Holy Spirit comes into his spirit and everything begins to change because of His indwelling presence.

Old habits begin to die, conviction of sin or wrong motives become evident, an awareness of a new vision for your life begins to be revealed and then all things begin to change. Newness of spiritual life surges through your soul like a fire that burns white hot with the passion of the Lord!

Your world vision turns into a new kingdom vision where your earthly senses become supernatural senses and then you receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit and the power and anointing that raised Jesus from the dead fills you with Faith, Hope and the Love of God that suddenly open the eyes of your understanding to realize your new spiritual destiny!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, (or Christ is in you) he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new. II Corinthians 5:17

HOPE

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:5,6

We are the product of God's never ending love, who sent His Son Jesus as the perfect sacrifice to die for us while we were still lost and dying in our sins!

Our sins are put as far as the east is from the west, in other words they are put away forever and not even God can remember them. Past, present and even the sins we haven't even committed yet have all been put under the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ!

No longer sinners, we are the righteousness of a holy God who washed us from all ungodliness and made us into new creations in Christ, born from above, we are a supernatural race of believers baptized in His Holy Spirit!

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified (pardoned) by His blood we shall be saved from wrath (Hell) through Him. Romans 5:8,9

HOPE

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

The Joy of the Lord is our strength and hope fills us with joy, that confident expectation that God is in full control of our circumstances. The Holy Spirit gives us hope and the strength to believe God so that we can abound in the fruit of the Spirit.

As believers we bear fruit for God by the things we suffer and the things we experience and endure. In other words, life produces fruit in us who have chosen to follow Jesus. We are planted in the garden of the kingdom, fertilized by the Spirit, pruned by the Father and bear fruit from our tribulations!

We as believers abide in the vine of Israel of whom we have been grafted in and bear fruit for God, who receives glory from His harvest. The fruit of the Holy Spirit in us is our proof of having His divine nature and character as believers.

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples." John 15:7,8

HOPE

Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him. The help of my countenance and my God. Psalm 42:11

Today in a world turned upside down, suffering through a worldwide pandemic and an economy that is on the brink of recession, it is easy to fall into depression and to become cast down.

The term cast down reminds me of a cast sheep. When sheep are heavy with wool and wet, if they fall, in most cases they cannot get up on their own and become easy prey for predators. This is why they are the only animals that need human intervention such as a shepherd.

We too need the great Shepherd to pick us up when we fall, who is mindful of our shortcomings and our many problems and worries similar to a sheep heavy with wool! Are you cast down, depressed or fearful? Hope in God!

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He restores my soul! Psalm 23:1,3

HOPE

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope. More than those who watch for the morning. Psalm 130:5

All the promises of God are yes and amen! We have all the assurance of the Most High that He will indeed honor His promises to us who believe! He watches over His word to perform it.

It would be a different world if our word was still our bond, but in this modern day of legal contracts and a multitude of lawyers it has to be in writing, not so with God, although it is written there are thousands of His promises in His word for us to stand on and wait for the outcome.

Although waiting is the hard part, there is great reward for those who wait upon the Lord. He is always faithful to fulfill His promises to us and grant to us our requests in His timing! Just as the morning comes, so will God's promise also come!

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

HOPE

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

The word hope means, confident expectation and is not a "crap shoot" as some suppose, like, I hope I win the lottery or I hope this or that will come to pass. The promises of God give us hope and comfort us as we go through the storms of life.

Though the world may live in fear of those things coming upon the earth, we as believers hope in God who loves us and has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. Like the children of Israel who were told to smear the blood of a lamb over their doorpost so that the death angel would pass over, so we who are covered in the blood of the Lamb of God have hope that we will be spared.

As we put our hope and trust in Him we have a future to look forward to and not a life of fear and dread as the world has, for we have been bought with a price!

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find find Me, when you search for Me with all of your heart. Jeremiah 29:12,13

THE PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up, "that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:14

It is not a coincidence that this devotion end on "Good Friday," it is Divine appointment for those who are to be born again! In the previous devotions we saw the seven places Jesus bled for us and the benefits of His suffering given to those who make Him Lord.

When the children of Israel journeyed in the wilderness they spoke against Moses and God and so He sent fiery serpents among them and they bit them, so they cried out for mercy acknowledging their sins! God instructed Moses to make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, a type and shadow of the cross, and whosoever was bitten by the serpent of sin, when he looked at it he would live!

This was a picture of Jesus being lifted up on a cruel cross, so that everyone who is a sinner would believe in His death, burial and resurrection, by faith would also be saved from eternal damnation! If you are lost in your sins and have no hope of eternal life, then today can be your "Good Friday!"

"For God so loved the world (you) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. "For God did not send His Son to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:16,17

Your servant in Christ, Timothy Laughlin
Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION: Dear heavenly Father I come before you acknowledging my sins to you and ask for your forgiveness! I believe that you gave Your Son for me to die a horrible death in my place so that I could inherit eternal life. I am willing to repent and turn away from an evil lifestyle and submit myself under the Lordship of Christ as a follower and disciple forever, in Jesus name, Amen!

If you have prayed this oath of salvation and have asked for God's forgiveness and mercy by faith, then let us know and we will help you through the process and give you the spiritual tools that will assist in your growth in Christ!

THE PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. Galatians 3:13

Because of Adam's sin in the garden eons ago all of mankind was cursed with the consequences of his disobedience. Sickness, disease and infirmity, poverty, lack, debt and eternal death came barreling down the bloodlines of humanity!

In order to stop the curse, a blood sacrifice had to be made, mankind's only hope. God chose the only offering for the sins of man, His own Son, Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God. In the old covenant the high priest would slay a lamb and take the blood into the holy of hollies where he would smear it on the mercy seat seven times, signifying the seven places that Jesus bled for us!

Then a second lamb would be sent into the wilderness after having had the curses of the law spoken over it representing the sins of man being placed upon the sacrifice. As Jesus bled for us in seven places, all the sins, transgressions and trespasses were heaped upon the Savior becoming a curse for us!

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. II Corinthians 5:21

Your servant in Christ, Timothy Laughlin
Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION: Heavenly Father thank you for the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus who was crucified and cursed with our sins and transgressions as well as our sicknesses in our place to whom the punishment was due. We praise Your holy name and receive all the benefits of Christ's sufferings in Jesus mighty name amen!

THE PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION

Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. John 19:32-34

When the spear of the Roman soldier pierced the very heart of Jesus, blood and water flowed out. Blood for the redemption of mankind and water, the life giving drink of the Spirit! On that fateful day the blood of a spotless Lamb flowed out to cleanse our sin and a river of life poured forth and became our source for spiritual drink!

By faith in this glorious work of redemption we partake of the blood of Christ to cleanse us of all unrighteousness and repent, thereby saving our souls from eternal damnation. We then drink of the water of life that refreshes our spirit and gives revelation of His word that in turn nourishes our spiritual man.

Jesus became the source of all spiritual life when He died on that cross, shedding His blood for the cleansing of sin and by giving the world the life giving drink of the Spirit to all who would believe in Him!

And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and these three are One. I John 5:8

Your servant in Christ, Timothy Laughlin

PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION: Heavenly Father we repent of all of our sins and transgressions committed against You and by faith we receive the blood of redemption and the water of life! In Jesus name! Amen

THE PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION

But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. Hebrews 10:12

As the nail pierced His feet and the blood flowed out, the powers of darkness were made His footstool forever! In Genesis 3:15 God said to the devil, "He (Jesus) will bruise (crush) your head and you shall bruise His heel."

Stripped of his power and totally defeated, the devil was reduced to a common footstool for the feet of Jesus and for us who serve Him! When the disciples came back whom Jesus had sent out to minister, they rejoiced that the demons were subject to them and Jesus said to them, "Behold I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy!" That pretty well says it, we are to put the powers of darkness who have no power under our feet!

Jesus paid the ultimate price by taking our sin to the cross and totally defeating our enemies by the blood He shed from the nail in is His feet! So, is the devil speaking to you being where he doesn't belong, whispering his schemes in your ear or is he silenced being under your feet?

And you being dead in your trespasses and the un-circumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:13-15

Your servant in Christ, Timothy Laughlin
Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION: Heavenly Father we receive the blood shed from the Savior's feet to cleanse us from the debt of the law of commandments and from all of our trespasses that we committed against You! Please forgive us and empower us to overcome the powers of darkness and put them under our feet! In Jesus name, Amen!

THE PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION

He was pierced through for our transgressions. Isaiah 53:5

Jesus was literally nailed to a cross which in actuality might have been a tree. In any case it was the beginning of a cruel death carried out by brutal Roman soldiers. Because of our transgressions He was pierced through with nails, a violation of His covenant and a breaking of His commandments.

Think about all the people touched by His anointed hands, the many sick who were healed, the compassionate way He laid His hands on people and the powerful expression of His preaching and the casting out of legions of demons! I can imagine Him raising His hands toward Heaven and crying out, "Lazarus, come forth!" Volumes could be written about all the people who were touched by His hands.

After Jesus arose from the dead He appeared to the disciples and told them to look at His hands where He was pierced but Thomas wasn't there at the time, but came in later saying, "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, I will not believe." Jesus then told him to put his finger into the print and so he believed!

And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. John 20:30,31

THE PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION

He was bruised (crushed) for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him. Isaiah 53:5

Jesus was beaten, bruised and crushed by the Roman guard beyond recognition and just as a prize fighter is beaten and the face becomes unrecognizable, so it was for the Christ! Jesus, being bruised, bled inside His body to break the generational curse of sin committed by Adam in the garden.

As the word states in Exodus 20:5 God visits the iniquity of the fathers upon the children! This is the generational curse that requires our salvation and deliverance from its deadly consequences. The blood of Christ's beating broke the curse and set all free who appropriate the benefit!

Jesus was the perfect sacrifice for all of our sins, transgressions, iniquities, and trespasses, and His blood set us free forever from the generational curse of our unfaithful ancestors.

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise (crush) Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin. Isaiah 53:10

Your servant in Christ, Timothy Laughlin
Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION: Heavenly Father we come before You in humility, asking for forgiveness for our unfaithful ancestors and by faith we receive the blood of the Lord Jesus that was shed for us when He was bruised for our iniquities to break the generational curses of sin, sickness and infirmity, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

THE PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION

Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life, both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you. Genesis 3:17,18

God cursed Adam's livelihood when he sinned against Him and proclaimed that all it would yield would be thorns and thistles. Our livelihood has also been cursed by the sin of Adam and we need to appropriate the blood that the Lord Jesus shed through the crown of thorns.

Jesus paid the ultimate price for all sin and broke every curse that has descended from the garden where Adam sinned against God! He took upon Himself the crown of thorns thrust on His head and bled to set us free from poverty, debt and lack!

The believer is supposed to be blessed with all sufficiency in all things, supplied by God who owns all things and has given us His divine prosperity. We are no longer bound by earthly economics, having been freed from the natural world and conveyed into the supernatural realm of the kingdom of God!

And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe. Then they said, "Hail, King of the Jews!" And they struck Him with their hands. John 19:2,3

Your servant in Christ, Timothy Laughlin
Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION: Heavenly Father by faith in the shed blood of Christ and the ultimate sacrifice of Your Son, we receive the benefit of Your divine provision and break every word, curse and spell of poverty debt and lack, proclaiming our freedom in Christ. Amen

THE PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION

Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree (cross) that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness, by whose stripes (wounds) you were healed. I Peter 2:24

When we think of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, we tend to think only of the cross, but if that wasn't bad enough He suffered and bled in six other places to give us the benefit of this cruel suffering.

It is hard to imagine being whipped thirty-nine times with a whip, called a cat of nine tails consisting of leather straps with pieces of bone and metal attached so that they would rip and tear the flesh. The movie, "THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST" is the most graphic portrayal I have ever seen that depicts the abject cruelty of the Roman soldiers.

It has been said that there are thirty-nine root diseases that cause all sickness, disease, and infirmity and Jesus healed them all! In Psalm 103 it states that He healed all of our diseases and Isaiah 53 says that by His stripes (wounds that tear) we are healed. In the gospel, Jesus healed all who came to Him, looking toward the cross and the suffering He would face!

Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits, Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2,3

Your servant in Christ, Timothy Laughlin
Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION: Heavenly Father, thank you for the sacrifice of Your Son who was scourged for our sicknesses, diseases and infirmities, we receive the benefit of His suffering and in the name, power, blood and authority of Jesus Christ we are healed!
