For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power for all patience and long-suffering with joy, giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. Colossians 1:3-12

We are partakers of the divine inheritance, all the benefits given to those who have made Jesus Lord! Jesus paid the price for our eternal souls when He suffered and died for us on the cross, but most do not know that He bled in seven specific places to give us complete salvation and deliverance from sin, iniquities, generational curses, and eternal death.

It all began in a garden when Adam first sinned by eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and God expelled Him from His presence to toil in the earth and the generational curse of sin began its fateful journey down the bloodlines of all mankind, creating the need to be saved from its deadly consequences, in which the Son of God was sacrificed!

When Jesus went into the garden of Gethsemane to pray He was under so much stress that His sweat turned to blood, thereby giving us access to the throne of the Most High and the very presence of God. As Adam was driven out of God's presence so we as believers are invited back into His gracious inheritance of eternal peace, prosperity, and blessing.

And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:42-44

PRAYER OF APPROPRIATION: Heavenly Father I thank you for giving Your Son Jesus for me as a sacrifice and I appropriate the blood He shed for me allowing me back into Your presence! In Jesus Name, Amen

"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." John 3:5

Once one is born from above, washed from his past sins and has received the Spirit of grace he becomes a "New Creation in Christ," old things, habits, patterns and curses have passed away and all things have become new!

The Greek word for salvation is the noun "soteria" that denotes deliverance, preservation, salvation, and the spiritual and eternal deliverance granted by God to those who accept His conditions of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The verb "sozo," to save, is used of material and temporal deliverance from danger, suffering, and sickness. Salvation and deliverance are synonymous!

Jesus said that the truth would set us free and now that your spiritual eyes have been opened to the truth we can begin to appropriate all the benefits that are ours in Christ through the things He suffered for us!

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come (now) He might show the exceeding riches of His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:4-9

Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. Psalm 103:1-5

We as believers have the greatest benefit package in the world or should I say, "Out of this world!" All the benefits of the kingdom of Heaven are available to us through the sufferings of the Lord Jesus Christ! For instance all of our iniquities are forgiven, past present and even future. All of our diseases are healed and all of our needs are provided!

In other words Jesus has paid the ultimate price for our well being and all we have to do is appropriate that which has already been done! In this series of devotionals we will appropriate the benefits of the seven places Jesus bled for us, from the garden of Gethsemane to the cross at Calvary, taking advantage of all that has been done for us!

This is the "Good News" that the Gospel of Jesus Christ promises, but in order to receive it you must be born again! To become a born again believer you must believe in the fact that Jesus died for you and shed His blood to set you free from sin and eternal death. First, you must acknowledge your sin by confessing that which you have done in rebellion against the Most High and then surrender your life to the Lord Jesus by repenting of your sins, transgressions and iniquities and by faith receive His blood to wash you white as snow!

"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again (born from above) he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:10,11

Nearly every believer knows about this scripture and the wearing of the armor of God, but the armor of God does not empower you, it only protects you, praying in the Spirit empowers you to defeat the powers of darkness!

The apostle Paul told the church at Ephesus to pray always in the Spirit, something that is usually neglected, but to leave this very important command out is like going to war fully dressed in armor but without your weapon! Praying in the Spirit releases God's power and anointing that is able to break yokes of bondage and set the captives free!

We don't wage war with flesh and blood because our battle is with spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places. As supernatural new creations in Christ we war in the Spirit, pulling down spiritual strongholds in the power of His might!

And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. Ephesians 6:17,18

"Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven. "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in Heaven." Matthew 18:18,19

Binding and loosing is another weapon in our heavenly armory used against the powers of darkness and by praying in agreement with our brothers and sisters, it is able to accomplish for us miraculous feats of divine power.

The disciples of Christ in the first-century church were in one accord, Jesus had ascended to His Father and told them He would send them a Helper, they waited patiently until the Holy Spirit was poured out upon them and they all spoke in tongues! Through great signs and wonders, there was the awesome presence of a Holy God in the midst of them! Three thousand people were saved and thousands more would come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord!

The point is, we as believers are to be baptized in the Holy Spirit in order to be filled with His power and anointing and then we can exercise the use of the spiritual gifts, including the authority to bind and loose "whatever" the Spirit is leading us to deal with. This formidable weapon is of the utmost in the ministry of deliverance and healing, to bind up and to loose into dry places that which you desire!

"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20

For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. I Corinthians 14:2

Speaking in tongues is one of the most misunderstood gifts in the Bible, it scares the daylights out of the mainline denominations and is frequently abused in the Charismatic churches, but is it a viable gift for the Spirit-filled believer? Yes!

First of all, there are various kinds of tongues with various uses within the church, but the one I am speaking of is our individual prayer language between us and God! A mystery, yes, but very useful in our personal relationship with the Father. Our prayer language is a heavenly communication between our spirit and the Holy Spirit, not spoken in human language but the heavenly language we speak the utterances of the Most High.

Praying in tongues may not be interpreted immediately or not at all, but it opens lines of spiritual communication with God that in turn opens doors, brings about revelation, wisdom, and knowledge, as well as answers prayer that we don't know how or what to pray. Praying in the spirit is also a weapon against the schemes of the devil, defeating our ancient foe through the power and anointing of God!

Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. I Corinthians 14:13-15

"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." Mark 14:38

Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane crying out to His heavenly Father to take away the cup of suffering from Him and He told His disciples to watch and pray, knowing He was about to be betrayed but found them sleeping.

To watch and pray is to be on the alert at all times knowing that the powers of darkness are seeking an open door to your life to rob, kill and destroy you! The devil is having a field day wreaking havoc throughout the earth and in the church of Jesus Christ because he is the most underestimated adversary the world has ever known, or should I say, "Has never known!"

The Holy Spirit is our heavenly watchtower or lookout post, always leading us into the refuge of the Father, safely under His wings in the shadow of His protection! So, watch and pray in the spirit at all times!

Be sober, (self-controlled) be vigilant; (watchful to avoid danger) because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. I Peter 5:8,9

"For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says, "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." Mark 11:23,24

This is not "name it and claim it", or "blab it and grab it", perverted teaching by TV evangelists, this is how Jesus said we are to pray, to believe in what we are asking for! The perversion is that God is portrayed as a Santa Claus, doling out whatever His spoiled little children desire, such as bigger homes, expensive cars and great wealth!

When Jesus called Peter to get out of the boat and walk on water, he didn't step out on the sea, he stepped out on the Word of the living God, believing he could do it and so he did, that is until he took his eyes off Jesus! In the context of this scripture, we need to look at what God's word says in order to know what His perfect will is for our lives and what He desires us to possess!

To the new believer, this scripture looks like Christmas and they begin to pray for all kinds of stuff that their selfish little hearts desire, but for the mature believer who has studied God's word and surrendered his life to Jesus, the riches and pleasures of this world begin to fade and the desire to please God becomes our sole purpose!

"And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in Heaven may also forgive you your trespasses." "But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in Heaven forgive you your trespasses." Mark 11:25,26

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart. Luke 18:1

Sometimes it is hard not to lose heart when praying for God to move in our circumstances, but His word encourages us to continue in faith and when we have done everything, He says to stand!

My wife was diagnosed with an incurable movement disorder called spasmodic torticollis or dystonia 22 year ago. Since that time she has confessed sin, gone through multiple deliverance's, been anointed with oil and had hands laid on her to no avail! Have we wanted to give up and throw in the towel, yes!

I don't understand why God waits or takes His time to answer His children when we cry out to Him, but I do know we are to continue and not lose heart, believing for whatever our request may be until He comes through for us, and He will come through!

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:13

"If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?" Luke 11:11,12

Our heavenly Father knows what we need even before we ask Him and He would never deny us unless what we were asking for was something that was harmful to us. Earthly fathers do the same, they grant the wishes of their children unless it is something they either don't need, or if it is not good for them.

Over the years I have worked with drug addicts and alcoholics and I have seen many set free by the power of God, but the greatest enemy to these was a parent who would enable them to continue in their addiction by giving them money or transportation that allowed them a way to the "Dope House!"

God knows whats best for His children and loves to give to us and bless us with abundance, but He would never give anything to a child that would harm him or be a determent to his life! If we ask in faith and pray for our needs to be met, God will begin to give us the desires of our heart!

"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" Luke 11:13

And Jesus said to His disciples, "Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves; 'for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him'; "and he will answer from within and say, 'Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you'? Luke 11:5-7

I wish I could tell you that I have prayed for forty years and not at some time or another lost heart, but I have and I have been discouraged at times and fearful, but God always seems to come through! This is what the apostle Paul calls, "The Good Fight of Faith!" The key to seeing prayers answered is, "Persistence!"

Most would leave if their neighbor said that he was in bed and wouldn't help him, but God is saying to keep asking and keep knocking until your neighbor opens up! Same with your heavenly Father, keep your request before Him and don't lose heart and give up! If your children come to you in the middle of the night asking for help, would you not give it to them?

When praying, claim the many promises of God in regards to your request, appropriate that which has already been done for you! You are already healed, delivered, prospered and forgiven and it doesn't get any better than that! Don't pray for more power because the same power that raised Jesus from the dead resides in you!

"I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. "So I say to you, ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." Luke 11:8-10

Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples." Luke 11:1

Jesus answered the disciple by reciting the Lord's prayer that has become a staple for the Christian community, but it is not just a phrase to quote as if it would answer all of our woes, it is a summary of that which we should do in order to ascend to the very throne room of the Most High!

Jesus said, "When you pray, say: "Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your name." In other words we are to render as holy the Father in reverence and in our approach to Him, in humility! He is not just some far off deity, He is our Creator, our source of all need, whether provision or healing, He is our provider and our heavenly Father.

Many today have called their heavenly Father, daddy, which is not the correct definition of the word abba which is always translated, Father. I have always had a problem calling God daddy because it sounds so disrespectful toward such an awesome God, reserved for little girls and children. But if you are comfortable with the term, by all means be led by the Spirit to show your affection and adoration to the Most High in any way you desire! (I know, we are God's children, I called my father "Pop!")

"O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. "And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them." John 17:25,26

Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates of the city. Revelation 22:14

Our eternal security is sealed by the blood covenant we have in Christ who loves us and has given His very life that we might inherit life eternal. For every believer, we are commanded to love God with every fiber of our being and everyone else just the same!

The pure water of life has produced in us the very fruit of the Lord Jesus Christ, the nature and character of God! We as believers are divine trees of life with nine fruits of His Spirit and we give out that which we have been given! We are known by our fruit, our divine character and the nature inherited from our heavenly Father.

Jesus Christ paid the price for our entry into the holy city and as His people, we have become the "Bride of Christ!" The wife of the Lamb, forever blessed as His disciples and resting in the eternal glory of Heaven's splendor!

And the Spirit and the bride say, "come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:17

And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. Revelation 22:1

For the believer there is a river that flows out from God's throne and from our relationship with Jesus! Available to those who ask for a drink from the pure river that quenches spiritual thirst and waters our gardens so that they may bear fruit for His kingdom.

Access to the very throne room of God is for every believer to come into His presence with thanksgiving and praise, worshiping the Most High and communing with Him without fear as sons and daughters! Within the secret place you will see and hear in the spirit as the Father reveals Himself, illuminating that which He wants you to know and revealing the mysteries of the kingdom.

Since Jesus has shed His blood for us, He has become our High Priest who has been tempted in all things so that He can sympathize with our weaknesses and forgive our sins, transgressions and iniquities. Today, if you are dry and dusty, have sinned and feel guilty, its time to ascend into the throne of God and receive His grace and mercy!

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

"For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of the valleys and hills." Deuteronomy 8:7

God delivered His people Israel from the hard bondage and slavery of Egypt, a type and shadow of the world. His plan was to deliver them and bring them into a land flowing with milk and honey, a fruitful land where they would never hunger or thirst.

Great miracles and supernatural power delivered the children of Israel and brought them down to the Red Sea, only to shake with fear, doubt and unbelief that they were going to die by the hands of the Egyptian armies. At the last minute, God split the sea and they crossed over on dry land, their enemies vanquished!

Although God fed them with manna from Heaven and water from the Rock, they refused to believe even in the midst of all the miracles of provision! A fourteen-day journey took forty years and still they didn't enter the promised land because of their stubbornness and unbelief! Will you go in and possess God's land or remain in the desert?

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
