THE RIVER OF LIFE

"If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water." John 4:10

Jesus met a Samaritan woman at Jacob's well and asked her to give Him a drink and she responded saying, "How is it, that You being a Jew ask for a drink from me?" Jesus responded and told her that if she had asked Him for a drink He would have given her living water.

This is how we witness to the lost, we give our testimony of how God saved us, or we mention something that God has given us, such as living water. Jesus used the water at the well as an example of spiritual water, the Holy Spirit, to open the eyes of this un-believer.

Salvation is a gift from God, given to everyone who asks of the water of everlasting life. Jesus told His disciples that the fields were ripe for harvest after they questioned Him why He was talking to a Samaritan woman. Are you giving out the water of life, telling a lost world that they can have a drink?

"Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, "but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." John 4:13,14

THE RIVER OF LIFE

Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ. I Corinthians 10:1-4

The children of Israel were examples for us to follow today having been baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit. Yes they ate the manna and the rock poured out water for them in the natural, but in the Spirit the manna represented the Word and the water represented the Holy Spirit and the Rock was Jesus who followed them!

All these things are types and shadows for those who have eyes to see spiritual things. As Jesus gave out spiritual drink, so we too have the ability in the Spirit to also give the water of life to a dry and thirsty world. The entire world is sinking into a delusional mindset where anything spiritual is either demonic or doesn't exist at all.

The true body of the Lord Jesus Christ is the world's only hope for a drink of the water of spiritual life, will you give them a drink? Our prayer should be, "Lord, open for us the wellsprings of life that we may give out of our abundance to a dry and thirsty land!"

Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, (instruction) upon whom the ends of the ages have come. I Corinthians 10:11

THE RIVER OF LIFE

I've got a river of life flowing out of me! Makes the lame to walk and the blind to see. Opens prison doors, sets the captives free! I've got a river of life flowing out of me! L. Casebolt

The river of life is symbolic of the Holy Spirit within you, without which there is no spiritual life! When one is born again he receives the Holy Spirit, but when he is baptized in the Holy Spirit he receives a river of power and anointing that will flow out of him!

Remember when the lady with the issue of blood reached out and touched the hem of His garment and He said, "Who touched me?" Jesus felt that river of life flowing out of His body and it healed her! If you have been baptized in His Holy Spirit, that river will also flow out of you!

The world needs this powerful transforming water of life to heal its ills and cure its diseases! We are the only ones to give them a drink and so it is our ministry to a dry and thirsty land to pour out this river of divine life on all who ask!

"If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. "He who believes in Me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart (innermost being) will flow rivers of living water." John 7:37,38

BECAUSE WE LOVE HIM HE WILL DELIVER US

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. Psalm 91:14

Because God loved us first, we develop a love for Him as we grow and mature in our walk as followers of the Lord Jesus Christ! To know Him is to love Him and to love Him reaps great rewards as we commune with the Most High.

As believers we can ascend to the very throne of God to be able to communicate, confess our sin or just to talk to our heavenly Father. We are His children and His love for us is incalculable, deeper than the oceans and higher than the stars of Heaven! We will never know how great a love He has for us until we see Him in glory!

Do you know Him and if so, do you love Him? If you love Him, tell Him, so that His joy as well as ours may be made full! If you have children and grandchildren you know what it means to love them as He loves us, that unfailing love and protection we want for our kids!

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation. Psalm 91:15,16

NO EVIL SHALL BEFALL YOU

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. Psalm 91:9-11

The question is, have you made the Lord your refuge and your dwelling place? Now we know that evil and plagues have befallen us at various times in our life, so what is He saying to us? The answer to this question is the fact that He has given us all power and authority over the powers of darkness and His holy angels as our personal body guards.

We have been healed, delivered and saved by the finished works of Calvary and we have been given weapons and armor to protect us and His angels, so what more could we want in regards to evil and plagues approaching us? We are more than conquerors in Christ and we are also overcomers as supernatural beings and we walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh!

Although our flesh is weak and open to attacks, plagues and disease, our spirits are untouchable by the works of darkness as long as we are dwelling under the shadow of the Almighty! We are not just old sinners saved by grace, we are the army of the living God, servants of the Most High, anointed to defeat and conquer our enemies, even death!

In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Psalm 91:12,13

HIS TRUTH SHALL BE YOUR SHIELD

His truth shall be your shield and buckler. (small shield) You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. Psalm 91:4-6

Lets face it, we live in a world that is being literally destroyed before our very eyes. The winds of tribulation are beginning to blow with the threat of an extinction event happening at any minute.

True, we have had plagues, famines, earthquakes and wars for eons, but now we are living in the last days and the eminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ is at hand! If you are consumed with the media blitzes that breed fear, doubt and unbelief you will be tormented by terror and a hopelessness will cloud your spirit with fear that will lead you into depression!

God's remedy for fear is the truth of His word which contains thousands of promises just for us! He said we shall not fear but believe and appropriate His promises into our heart and minds in Christ Jesus. So, with that said, hold up your shield and praise God that you belong to the Most High who covers you with His wings and loves you more than you will ever know!

A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. Psalm 91:7,8

THE SNARE OF THE TRAPPER

Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler (one who catches birds) and from the perilous (deadly) pestilence. Psalm 91:3

The devil is a master trapper and hunter, always looking to catch some unsuspecting soul by his tempting bait. Most of the time he uses the bait that is already in your heart, such as lust, pride or greed, etc.

For eons he has proved his talent by trapping some pretty great trophy's such as Adam and Eve, Samson, David and a multitude of other illustrious biblical characters! And I am pretty sure at one time or another he has also trapped you!

In order to avoid being trapped, one must be on the alert at all times abiding under the protective shadow of the Most High! Constant communion with the Father in prayer, meditation and study of His word will strengthen you as well as the armor of God that was given for your protection.

Be sober, (self-controlled) be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. I Peter 5:8

GOD IS MY REFUGE

I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." Psalm 91:2

God is our safe haven, our protected harbor that keeps us from the storms of life. When times of trouble come upon us and the winds of trial, tribulation or danger confront us, we have a refuge, a veritable fortress in which to hide from our enemies!

In 1873 Horatio Spafford who had lost a son to pneumonia and his business that burned in the Chicago fire, but was later restored, planned a trip to Europe with His wife Anna and four children but because of a business problem he stayed back and sent his wife ahead. The ship they were in sank killing all four children but his wife survived. When Mr. Spafford caught the next ship to go and console his grieving wife, as they passed the very spot where his children drowned, he penned the famous hymn, "It is well with my soul."

Is it well with your soul? Are you safe in the refuge of God's love, or are you terrified by the trials of life? Put your trust in Him who knows you and will keep you in His everlasting arms! God's peace will surround you as a fortress of protection!

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6,7

LIVING UNDER THE SHADOW

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1

The secret place is a dwelling in the Spirit obtained when we are born again, that intimate place of communion with God. The Jewish Tallit or prayer shawl represents a tabernacle when covering the head, an intimate place of worship!

We as the children of God are His temple, made of living stone, His tabernacle on the earth where His Spirit dwells, so in essence, we are the secret place! When we were children walking with our parents, we were overshadowed by them just as with our heavenly Father, we are living under His shadow!

Within this very important Psalm are divine promises for us who know Him and appropriate that which He has given us. We are living in dangerous times and darkness is descending upon the earth with plagues, famines, wars and destruction on all sides. Our only hope is to dwell under the shadow of the Almighty!

For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; (tent) in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. (Jesus) Psalm 27:5

REST IN THE LORD

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him. Psalm 37:7

Two of the hardest things for man to do, is to rest in the Lord and to wait on Him! To rest in this world of electronic, hand held everything is impossible with IPhones, IPads computers and games, not to mention TV and social media filling our minds with nothing worth getting upset over!

We are to love the Lord with all of our hearts and our minds, but our minds are continually filled with the lust and pride of the world, leaving us exhausted and unable to rest! To overcome this madness, one must shut out the world and start off with a quiet time with the Lord, spending your first waking hours communing with your heavenly Father.

Through prayer, intercession, and study of His word each morning, when your mind is free from the hustle and bustle of the day, will create a peace and stillness in your spirit that will enable you to rest in Him! There is nothing the devil likes better than attacking your minds with fear, worry, doubt and unbelief. That's why the word says to take every thought captive and inventory your thought life, sending everything back that is contrary to God's word!

Be still and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm 46:10

COMMIT YOUR WAY TO THE LORD

Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Psalm 37:5,6

To traverse the paths of righteousness on earth as a supernatural people, we must commit our way to the One who is the Way! Jesus is our Shepherd and we are the sheep of His pasture here on the planet.

Sheep are led and goats are driven as the saying goes and for us to find our way on this divine journey we must commit our ways, plans, and dreams to Him for our lives to line up with His will for us. God is all-knowing, all-seeing and is omnipresent, so why would we ever put our trust in another?

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father but by Him and that is the journey we are all on, to commit our way to Jesus and inherit eternal life in Him. His will is our will and His way is our way. There is a way which seems right to a man (a carnal man) but the end is death!

Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit"; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall do this or that." James 4:13-15

DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

To delight ourselves in the Lord is to take pleasure in our relationship with Him that yields great satisfaction and blessing in our lives. When He is our delight, He not only puts His desires for our life within us, but He also desires us to receive that which we are believing for.

God loves us and desires for us to go deeper in our relationship with Him, building a dialog that produces faith and great blessing. Most today say they know God, but in reality they only know of God, even the devil knows of God, the Word says that the demons know Him and are fearful.

Knowing the Most High is a divine romance much like the love of a man and woman, nurtured through honesty and time spent communing with one another, His love for us is indescribable! To measure your delight in Him is to measure the time you spend with Him in fellowship and communion, sharing with one another.

"If you abide (live, dwell and remain) in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." John 15:7

TRUST IN THE LORD

Trust in the Lord and do good, dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Psalm 37:3

To trust and dwell in the land of God is to live in His will for you. God's land is that place of faith in Him to provide all of your needs, not the earth we walk on, but the supernatural dwelling of God as mentioned in Psalm 91, the secret place of the Almighty.

We abide in the shadow of God, covered by His wings and protected from evil in our refuge and fortress, guarded by the holy angels. His promise is that no evil shall befall us, nor shall any plague come near our dwelling! Appropriating His promises is like the roof over our dwelling that protect us from the storms of life!

He is the Vine and we are branches that are sustained by the food provided by the Vine and as a natural plant receives its nourishment, so we too are fed by the faith we walk in, believing His promises to us to be fulfilled!

"If you abide (live, dwell and remain) in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." John 15:7
