BLOOD COVENANT

But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. Hebrews 9:11,12

The Old Covenant was fulfilled in Christ and a New Covenant was inaugurated with the blood of Christ! Covenant means, a binding contract likened to being blood brothers with someone. In our case we are blood brothers and sisters with Christ!

When Jesus suffered, died and rose again the old priesthood was done away with and a new and living way was introduced. Jesus became our High Priest and we became His royal priesthood, a holy people no longer under law but grace. Jesus fulfilled the law and the temple was destroyed, the priesthood was done away with and the powers of darkness were disarmed.

The veil of separation in the temple was torn from top to bottom by the angels as Jesus drew His last breath, signifying man's ability to come before the throne of the Most High through the blood of Christ! Are you washed in the Savior's blood, are your sins forgiven and have you surrendered your life and heart to the Lord Jesus Christ? If not, church will just be another dead religious ritual and you will continue on your final journey to eternal damnation with the devil and his angels!

For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause He is the mediator of the new covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. Hebrews 9:13-15

BLOOD COVENANT

"Then the High Priest shall come out to the altar that is before the LORD and make atonement for it. He shall take some of the bull’s blood and some of the goat’s blood and put it on all the horns of the altar. He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times to cleanse it and to consecrate it from the uncleanness of the Israelites. “When Aaron has finished making atonement for the Most Holy Place, the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall bring forward the live goat. He is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites—all their sins—and put them on the goat’s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task.  The goat will carry on itself all their sins to a remote place; and the man shall release it in the wilderness." Leviticus 16:18-22

In the Old Testament the High Priest was the only one who could enter the Holy of Holies with the blood of the sacrifice to atone for the sins of the people. To atone means to cleanse, to cover, cancel, forgive, pardon and reconcile. In the New Covenant Jesus is our High Priest and His blood shed for us washes our sins away!

The Old Testament held a type and shadow of the Lord Jesus Christ yet to come and He has become our High Priest who was sacrificed for our sins and iniquities once and for all! He died once as the Lamb of God for our sins to cleanse His people forever. The Lord Jesus Christ was a perfect sacrifice without spot or blemish, able to forgive, cleanse and totally wash away the sins of mankind!

From the time of Adam's sin and rebellion against God in the garden when Adam told the Most High he was naked, God then killed an animal and sprinkled the blood over him cleansing his sin because only a blood sacrifice can bring about remission of sins. As we will see in devotions yet to come from the Garden of Gethsemane to the cross Jesus bled in seven specific places to set us free from our sins and iniquities that separated us from the Most High!

"This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you." Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. And according to law almost all things are purified (cleansed) with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no remission." Hebrews 9:20-22

BLOOD COVENANT

For the wages of sin is death (eternal death) but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

We have all been born in sin inherited from Adam, a generational curse of sickness, disease, poverty and eternal death has come down the bloodline to us all! We are all born to die and be tormented in Hell forever if we don't confess and repent of our sins! For all have sinned and fall short of His glory!

Most are never convicted of their sins and that is why many are lost and going to Hell because they were never made aware of the consequences of their actions. The watered down, sugar coated Gospel of today never touches the heart of man, only tickling his ears, he feels good about praying a prayer but is never convicted and so ends up dying in his sins and is judged forever in Hell!

Mankind is born to die in his inherited sins if they are not acknowledged, confessed and repented of. When Adam sinned against God, he along with all of us were expelled from paradise! Jesus shed His blood in seven places to restore us from the wrath and righteous judgment of God!

For as by one man's disobedience (Adam) many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience (Jesus) many will be made righteous. Romans 5:19

BLOOD COVENANT

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My body. "Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matthew 26:27,28

Salvation is not about praying a prayer, walking an isle or being baptized and joining the church! Salvation is about the remission of your sins! Remission means to forgive, pardon, to gain relief, and to refrain from enforcing punishment!

Today in the religious world, the precious blood of the Lord Jesus is hardly ever spoken of not wanting to upset some by the fact that Jesus was beaten, whipped and cruelly executed on a rugged tree! Inviting Jesus to be your own personal Savior is much easier with less thought of someone shedding His own blood!

The ugly truth of the most important matter to be discussed in the world is the hardcore fact that Jesus, the Lamb of God was slaughtered for us because of our sins and He took the punishment for us to whom it was due!

And according to the law almost all things are purified (cleansed) with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no remission (forgiveness) of sins. Hebrews 9:22
