And the Lord said to Moses, "I have seen this people, and indeed it is a stiff-necked people! "Now therefore, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume (destroy) them. And I will make of you a great nation." Exodus 32:9

In the previous devotional we saw where these things in the Old Testament were examples for us to see and understand God's righteous judgment on sin and idolatry, and that His wrath is poured out on the sons and daughters of disobedience.

Moses was on the mountain with God 40 days receiving the ten commandments and the people grew impatient and incited Aaron to make for them an idol, a golden calf to worship and it brought about God's holy anger down upon them just as idolatry does today on those who worship foreign gods!

If Moses, a type and shadow of the Lord Jesus had not interceded for the people, God would have destroyed them all. Remember you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons, unless you want to become sharers with demons!

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleaness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God (demons) is coming upon the sons of disobedience. Colossians 3:5,6
