Restoring The Fire Of God: Part III

RESTORING THE FIRE OF GOD

    The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen. Acts 1:1,2

    Just as Elijah built an altar with twelve stones and called down the fire of God, so Jesus built His altar with twelve living stones and the government of God was complete, ready to contain the Holy Fire of the Most High!

    Jesus commanded His apostles to remain in Jerusalem and wait for the "Promise of the Father" and so they and the one hundred twenty disciples of Christ waited patiently for the "Baptism in the Holy Spirit!" Unbeknownst to them this was the future of the most powerful entity ever assembled in the history of mankind, about to change the entire known world!

    The kingdom of Heaven had truly come to earth and with it the supernatural power of God about to be distributed to the first assembly of God together in one accord, waiting patiently for the Promise! Do you not see the difference in this powerful on fire assembly compared to the lukewarm complacent anemic (blood deficient) church we have today?

    "For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." Acts 1:5

YOU SHALL RECIEVE POWER

    "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth," Acts 1:8

    Jesus told His disciples that they would be witnesses, not that they should go and witness, something perverted by the traditions of man. A witness is someone who has seen something and then testifies of what he has seen! It is not a person who hands out tracks and tries to convince someone to pray the sinner's prayer, it is a witness of the supernatural power of God to transform a life!

    Can you imagine the testimonies coming out of this assembly who were to be baptized in the Holy Presence of God and then witnessed their brothers and sisters all filled and speaking in tongues to thousands attending Pentecost? What a magnificent sight to behold seeing the most powerful entity in the creation poured out on ordinary folks who would send this testimony around the world and would transform mankind!

    If we could only grasp the "Divine Design" given by the Father and restore His government and the Baptism in the Holy Spirit in the modern day church, I believe the fire would return and and this once powerful expression of Christ would again appear and transform this fallen world!

    And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Revelation 12:11

A RUSHING MIGHTY WIND

    When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Acts 2:1,2

    The fire fell on the altar of God and ignited a firestorm that has lasted for eons! There is a remnant of the people of God today who are filled with His Spirit and have carried out His commands to make disciples and reap a harvest in the earth!

    Upon their baptism of the very fire of God they spoke with other tongues to those who were attending Pentecost and they were hearing them speak in their own language and Peter stood up and preached the gospel to them and 3000 were saved! 3000 visitors to Jerusalem got saved and then called for their families to come and move in with the 120! What a spectacle of the grace and mercy of God!

    Can you imagine your church receiving 3000 new, on fire converts with no place to live and pretty soon their families would be showing up? How would this new fledgling church take care of this enormous harvest of souls? The answer is, they would all live in common!

    Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. Acts 2:44,45

Tim Laughlin has been involved in full time ministry for over thirty-five years. Set free from a $2000.00 a week cocaine addiction and fifteen years of alcoholism, Tim gave his life to Jesus in 1980 and was immediately delivered. Trained in the streets, led only by the Holy Spirit, Tim prayed for drug addicts, prostitutes and anyone else that wanted to be free from the strongholds of sin.
