Counting It All Joy, Part IV

Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. James 1:2

The testing of our faith is likened to assaying gold in order to analyze the properties of the ore. Our faith which is more precious than gold is tested by fire in order to burn out the impurities and to purify our devotion to the Lord.

From the time of our spiritual birth we are subjected to various trials and tests to build up and exercise our faith. Our spirits are eternal, reserved for the portals of Heaven in which we will inherit that which the Lord has promised in regards to salvation. Our flesh on the other hand is in a state of perpetual corruption as we approach the end of our journey and is being burned in the fire of God's glory, leaving a precious metal more valuable than gold.

We are the jewels of the Lord, mined from the earth's depths to be transformed into new creations in Christ, seated in heavenly places reserved for the treasuries of Heaven where no flesh resides, only purified and refined gems resurrected into His glorious presence!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible (imperishable) and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in Heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved (distressed) by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ. I Peter 1:3-7
