By Faith, Part I

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Faith is an actual substance from which something is made and although it is a supernatural thing nonetheless it is the very building block of the entire universe. The word of God contains over eight thousand promises for us to stand upon in faith to call those things that don't exist into existence.

The substance of things hoped for does not mean what we have defined hope as, because hope is not a statement of doubt, but one of anticipation of that which we are believing for. Throughout the scripture men and women of God overcame impossible situations, reclaimed their dead, defeated their enemies, conquered kingdoms and performed supernatural works.

In the following devotional teachings we will see how God worked through ordinary people just like us to accomplish seemingly impossible things for His kingdom. In order for one to walk as Jesus walked he must use the faith that has been measured to him, exercising his gift to accomplish great things for Him. Such things separate the believer from the unbeliever!

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:3
