Breaking The Generational Curse

Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver and gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and spot. I Peter 1:18,19

Jesus became a curse for us when He suffered on the cross and bled in seven places to give us a total and complete deliverance. Mankind must be saved in order to break the generational curse coming down the bloodlines of our unfaithful ancestors.

If Jesus died and shed His blood to set me free, then why do I still suffer the effects of the curse? Appropriation! The act of possession, in other words we have to possess that which Christ has done for us! You don't have to go to to find out if any of your relatives have sinned, because the Bible states that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Each person has their own share of generational sin to deal with and in order to be set free one must appropriate the power of the blood of Jesus and the anointing of the Holy Spirit to break the yoke of bondage.

Think about the ramifications of the sins of generations of unfaithful ancestors barreling down your bloodline toward you and your loved ones. Rape, murder, stealing, adultery, divorce, and a multitude of other transgressions sent to destroy your life. I have prayed with inmates in prison that committed the same crime as their father committed, sent to the same prison and in one instance in the same cell! The very word salvation in the Greek means deliverance and to experience the fulness of what Christ did for us on the cross we must take hold of the outcome of His suffering to receive the blessing of freedom from sin.

Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. Romans 5:18

"For I am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands who love Me and keep My commandments." Exodus 20:5,6

The reason we must be saved is because of what Adam did in the garden of Eden when he and Eve ate of the tree that God commanded them that they should not eat. God held Adam responsible even though Eve took of the fruit first and then gave it to Adam, thus the sin of our first father began to move in his bloodline of whom we all belong.

Never before had anything happened like this in the beautiful garden that God had created for all of mankind to enjoy. No sin, no sickness, bugs or snakes and never had anything died, that is, up until now! Sin had entered paradise when the serpent deceived Eve and seduced her right in front of her husband Adam who should have run that slippery devil out of the garden and taken his God-given right over the powers of darkness.

This one act of disobedience caused the generational curse of Adam to begin it's fateful journey down the bloodlines of all of mankind, wreaking havoc upon millions of innocent souls! Death and destruction, sickness and disease and violence of all kinds began to move ever so silently through man's veins as inherited sins and disease have literally killed millions of unsuspecting men and woman that had absolutely no idea what was happening to them.

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous. Romans 5:19

Behold I was brought forth in iniquity. And in sin my mother conceived me. Psalms 51:5

All of mankind is born with the sin of their unfaithful ancestors coursing through their veins along with hereditary diseases of all kinds. Medical science has discovered specific genes passed down that hold a high percentage rate of that person actually inheriting a generational disease.

There is a trend beginning to take place among women to have radical mascectomies for fear of breast cancer and hysterectomies for fear of ovarian cancer because this specific gene was passed down from their mothers. The truth of the matter is this, nothing can stop inherited disease but the blood of Jesus. Nothing can break the yoke of the generational curse but the power of the anointing of the Holy Spirit!

Jesus died a horrible death taking upon Himself the sins, sicknesses and generational curses of all mankind, but to receive the benefit one must truly repent of ones sin and the sins of his unfaithful ancestors and be washed in the blood of the Son of the living God! To repent is to change ones mind and heart and do an about face, in other words renew your mind with God's word and turn away from sin and iniquity.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me and I will be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Psalm 51:7-9
