Sweet dreams are made of this, who am I to disagree?
I travel the world and the seven seas
Everyone's looking for something
Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused
The sweet dreams of the world are often times not so sweet, having underlying motives and demonic strongholds! The recent fall of the Hollywood Mogul who sexually abused many of today's big stars prompted me to write this message concerning the secrets of men and women's hearts.
No doubt many of the stars who threw this giant producer under the bus had selfish ambitions to use him as well in their rise to stardom. Even though many who accused their abuser were in fact abusers themselves, including one actor who was exposed on TV for fondling another actress. So, who's the guilty one now? If you take a hard look at any who accused this man of abusing them you will find a perverted lifestyle of adultery, sexual misconduct and lust that has fueled the tabloids for years!
Lets face it, Hollywood is a cess-pool of abuse, sexual escapades and a dark side that would make Darth Vader look like Ned in the first reader! Self righteous zealots who made it up the ladder of success, many on their backs on the casting couches of some of the biggest producers in the world and now are throwing stones at others!
"Those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart and they defile a man. "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies." Matthew 15:18,19
Now with that in mind as we stick our religious noses in the air at Hollywood, lets look at the sins and hidden secrets of those who profess to know the Lord! We as believers have some "Sweet Dreams" of our own!
I would dare say lust is one of the believer's strongest enemies, being bombarded daily with media blitz's designed to seduce you with sexy bodies, culinary delights and anything else your heart would desire. We are taught to take every thought captive and to be in the world but not of it, but there are so many things vying for our attention, how in the world can we be free from its gravitational pull? The answer is, set your mind on heavenly things, spend time meditating on God and His word, cleanse your heart and mind of worldly pursuits and shut off your phones!
Philippians instructs us to meditate on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely and of good report, so you will have to turn off the nightly news because there are few things on it of good report! In other words, turn off your mind for a while and allow Holy Spirit to permeate your mind, soul and spirit with His peace and that peace will guard you from the temptations, trials and lusts trying to capture your heart!
Blessed is the man or woman who endures temptation, for when they have been approved, they will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God;" for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and sin when it is full grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived my beloved! James 1:12-16
