How you have fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into Heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High. Isaiah 14:12-14
The all seeing "I" of Satan is the same as the all seeing, selfish, self centered, all about me attitude of man. Even in today's world of so-called Christianity, self help gurus, prosperity preachers and pillow profits (prophets) have polluted the assembly of the righteous with doctrines of demons and man-centered tradition and ritual! Best selling this, and "Mega" that, the superstars peddle their wares of poisonous venom spewed out of the mouth of the devil himself!
Today's fast food, microwave, consumer driven, event motivated church of all about me doesn't need God, oh, they talk about Him and even put scriptures on their refrigerators, but when the trials and tribulations of life comes they run to the world for help! Say it ain't so but it is at least in the western world where we have everything we could dream of at the touch of a finger. Doctors, lawyers, therapists, physiologists, psychiatrists and any drug you can think of to cure your ills and if that's not good enough we have Oprah, Ellen, Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, Dr. Drew and any number of self help gurus to help you solve life's problems!
But what about the rest of the world, those poor third world countries who struggle to survive on a daily basis, without doctors and miracle drugs they scrounge out a meager existence just trying to make another day? In most cases throughout the world they are dominated by either cruel dictators or demonic entities adding to their plight: more poverty, disease and death. These are the ones who need God and when they find Him, it is a sell-out! They receive Him with joy and thanksgiving believing His every word and trusting Him with their very lives! Should that not be the norm for all believers, a total surrender of ones will and possessions, trusting in Him who died for us to give us eternal life?
For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. II Corinthians 5:14,15
