"That they all may be one, as You Father, are in Me, and I in you; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me." John 17:21

How can the world believe something that is so denominated, splintered, argumentative and undecided about who they are and to Whom they belong? There is a church on every corner saying they have the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, but by their actions they nullify the word of God by their disunity with one another.

It is no wonder the world laughs and mocks at what we call church and attend faithfully around the world every Sunday, and yet the world is not saved. The reason the world is not saved is because God will not allow disunity and division among His people which brings about mass confusion concerning the gospel message that we are all one in Christ! Would you believe someone who is not sure about what he is telling you, and the message of this life concerning eternity is the most important thing anyone can hear and understand in order to be saved? In our men's fellowship groups the question is always asked, which church should I attend, or which one has the truth and why are there so many different beliefs?

United we stand and divided we fall as the old saying states and yet we totally ignore the fact that we have been separated from one another by tradition, religious ritual, doctrines of demons and downright lies spoken by the devil himself! America says, one nation under God and yet we too are divided by race, politics and religion being dis-unified by what we have been taught to believe. The cults and false religions of the world are more unified than the body of Christ and so they are much more effective in spreading their message than we, because there is strength in numbers. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is the most powerful entity in the world, endowed with power from on high, and yet divided by doctrine, they have become powerless, hidden away in their little sheep pens, divided from their brothers and sisters by misguided leadership, unaware of their mission in the world.

"And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are One; "I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me." John 17:22,23

THE CHURCH OF GOD

To the church of God, which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours. I Corinthians 1:2

The only distinction made for the church of God was location, not doctrine, nor race, nor religious preference, but saints called to be unified with those who know the Lord Jesus Christ. Even the Jewish brethren had to eventually unite with the Gentile church bringing about unity and harmony despite their tradition and upbringing. The apostle Paul was quick to dispel any division or dis-unity whenever it arose making sure that the body of Christ was not being splintered or fractured in any way which would weaken the church.

Today we have thousands of divisions, denominations and splinter groups saying that they are the church of God. Catholics, Methodists, Baptists, Charismatics, Lutheran, Pentecostal, and on and on and on! How does one choose from so broad a spectrum of churches? The answer is: it is impossible! How in the world did we get so dis-unified in the name of Jesus and is there a solution to all of this division and can the true church of God ever return to its original state of peace and harmony in the Spirit? My personal belief is that God will either bring about a catastrophic event that will drive us together, or persecution will arise, or the beginning of the "Great Tribulation" will bring the church back to where it began with a powerful outpouring of God's Spirit.

There will have to be a great purging of selfish ambition and pride to bring down all the little man-made religious kingdoms that flesh has built in order for God to pour out His Spirit and to bring about a pure and holy vessel to contain it. The church described in the book of Acts will once again arise from the ashes of man-centered worship and become the dwelling place of the Most High endowed with power and majesty and glory for all of the world to behold as the Lord Jesus Christ is revealed in us!

Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, (have a uniform testimony) and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. I Corinthians 1:10

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing-life forevermore. Psalm 133:1-3

The psalm illustrates the effects of unity upon the brethren by the subsequent outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the form of corporate anointing that flows down from Heaven on God's holy priesthood. If the body of Christ could shake off the chains of bondage that tradition and doctrine have held them in, they would experience a divine visitation likened to the original outpouring on the disciples at Pentecost! Unity brings forth power, anointing, signs, wonders and multiplication among those who choose to fellowship with their brethren, unified under the banner of the cross of Christ.

From the beginning, Satan learned the secret of division when he separated Adam and Eve from their Creator bringing about the fall of all human-kind. It was only a matter of time before men began to deviate from their original state of unity among brethren and separate over race, religion and creed, all in the name of fleshly lust! When Israel entered Egypt and began to prosper and multiply, the Egyptians began to worry that because of their great numbers they might rise up and defeat them and take over their country. Again, Satan devised a diabolical plan by putting God's people into slavery by dividing them up into small groups to labor in the mud pits of Egypt for over four hundred years. And so it is today, the devil is still holding God's people in bondage by dividing them up into little religious groups, all proclaiming to belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, but denying fellowship with the rest of the body, all in the name of church!

The Lord Jesus Christ chose twelve men to become apostles in His first church of sold out, soon to be blood bought disciples, and He poured out His life into them, teaching by example the principals of His new kingdom. He didn't choose pastors or it never would have multiplied, and He didn't choose prophets or they would have run off all the disciples, He chose twelve pillars to support, intercede and plant His kingdom of Heaven on earth! If one can put a thousand to flight, and two, ten thousand, then twelve can put one hundred trillion of the enemies of God to flight! Do the math! There is strength in men of God interceding for the saints in unity in the Spirit with a single purpose to advance a heavenly kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. Unless we go back to the original blueprint of divine design and follow the plan of the Lord Jesus Christ for His spiritual body in the earth, we will continue to replicate a man-centered, event motivated, circus of ritualistic services built for an apathetic bunch of church going, only on Sunday spectators!

The twenty four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: "You are worthy, O lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will, they exist and were created." Revelation 4:10,11
