"Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him." John 6:27
Jesus was telling the multitudes who were following Him that they were seeking Him only for the food that they had received from Him when He multiplied the loaves and fishes and not the spiritual food that would ultimately give them eternal life. The question is this: are you working to live, or living to work? The difference is that working to live provides the basic necessities of life and living to work can consume all of ones time and energy, leaving them spiritually exhausted.
The believer has two mouths to feed, his physical human body and his supernatural spiritual body and they both have to receive nourishment in order to maintain a healthy life. If you only ate a meal once a week your body would begin to run down, lose energy, and ultimately if this continued, would eventually starve to death. So it is with our spiritual bodies, we have to eat eternal food in order to survive; but how do we receive spiritual food? Most do not understand how we as believers eat the bread of life and many are so weak from being deprived that they are slowing dying spiritually. Going to church to hear a sermon might inspire you, but it will not feed your spirit, you have to feed yourself by spending time in the presence of God in prayer and meditation.
I am not talking about transcendental meditation, or some spiritual trance one enters by practicing Yoga or some other form of new age hocus-pocus, I am speaking of seeking the Lord in prayer, studying His word and chewing on the meat of His divine food to obtain the supernatural flavor that sustains spiritual life. Jesus is the very bread of life and in order for one to eat it he must be able to allow it to get into his heart and not his stomach. You've heard the expression, head knowledge verses heart knowledge and so it is that head knowledge only educates, but heart knowledge feeds the spirit of a man allowing him to grow up in stature and strength as he becomes a mature man of God.
"This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent." John 6:29
THE BREAD OF LIFE
"I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." John 6:35
Early on in my spiritual life, from the time I was born again up until now, thirty five years later I have learned the secret of eating the bread of life. I was taught by a pastor who also spent much time with God and led me to journal my thoughts, revelations and scriptures that God was giving me, not to mention the many answers to prayers over the years. As this practice became a habit I begin to spend several hours a day searching the scriptures, meditating on their spiritual meaning for me, and praying for the Lord to open the eyes of my understanding and as this practice continued I realized that I was not only building a personal relationship with Jesus but I was beginning to grow and mature in my spiritual walk with Him.
The bread of life is not a wafer that one consumes at communion as many do on Sunday, it is true spiritual food given by the Holy Spirit as one feeds on the supernatural presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. Millions have been deceived into thinking that Jesus can be brought down from Heaven and killed daily (A Catholic ritual called transubstantiation) to obtain eternal life, or that by eating this little wafer in communion can somehow save your soul is pure deception and a lie from the devil himself. Hell is gorged with the souls of millions who were deceived by religious dead works believing that a ritual once a week would somehow save them from eternal judgment in Hell forever! The very word communion means fellowship and fellowship is what we share with one another as well as with the Lord Jesus Christ who gave His life once to deliver us from the wrath of God. This fellowship in the Spirit gives us spiritual nourishment and allows us to grow up into Him as mature believers in Christ and accomplish His work in the earth.
Birthed from the practice of spending time with God came the ability to write, something that I never had or was capable in the natural realm to do. For the past few decades I have written what God gives me and share it with those who would receive it, some do, and some don't, but it doesn't matter, the only thing that truly matters is that I am obedient to Him who gives me revelation. Most of what God gives me is basic simple revelation, and principles of the kingdom and how to grow and mature in Christ. For many years God allowed me to found and direct several Christian drug rehabs and ministries of restoration and out of this experience he has now led me to write about the many miracles and people that were changed by the power of God. People ask me if I really write these messages and I have to be honest and tell them that I have a Ghost writer, the Holy Ghost!
"I am the living bread which comes down from Heaven. If anyone eats of this bread he will live forever and the bread that I shall give is My flesh which I shall give for the life of the world." John 6:51
JESUS IS SPIRITUAL FOOD
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
Jesus said that unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood you have no life in you. He did not mean His physical flesh and blood, but His spiritual food that which we receive from the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Word and it must be received into one's heart supernaturally assimilated by the Holy Spirit in order for one to receive the life that nourishes the spirit of man. This communion between God and man is not the ritual that has been initiated by the consuming of the bread and wine, but a new and living way created by God Himself for believers to receive the blood of His Son supernaturally to cleanse sin and give spiritual life.
The statement Jesus made concerning the eating of His flesh and drinking His blood meant to the Jews that this was an act of cutting covenant, the giving up of their life to follow Him and many of them turned away and didn't walk with Him any more. The entire message of the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ in regards to salvation involves the giving up of ones life and by faith receiving the supernatural cleansing power of His blood to wash away sin, and restore what was lost, giving spiritual life to the believer. Being born again represents the creation of a spiritual man made in the likeness of his creator endowed with power and authority to carry out His will in the earth as an expression of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
To be one with Christ is to be in covenant with Him through His blood and the supernatural indwelling of the Holy Spirit that gives us the power to become new creations. Religious works, joining a church, taking communion or being baptized cannot save you, only by faith in the Son of God and by the finished works of Calvary on the cross can one truly become a born again believer, washed, filled, sanctified, justified and rectified before a holy God! This mystery is great and only available to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit is saying, but to those who don't see and hear they will continue in their pursuit of God through ritual and religion missing the blessing of salvation and doomed to eternal damnation forever in Hell!
"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. "Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. "For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in Him. "As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. "This is the bread which came down from Heaven, not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever." John 6:53-58
