"Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. "But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her."Luke 10:38-42

Jesus entered the home of a woman named Martha and she had a sister named Mary who sat at His feet and heard His word. Martha and Mary represent two types of people, those who sit at the feet of Jesus and those who are distracted by other things.

For over thirty years I have observed many who say they are believers but they don't spend time in the Word or prayer and are always distracted by the things of the world. Our relationship with Jesus is the most important thing we have to nurture and maintain throughout our lives. To know Him is supreme and like treasure in Heaven it will not be taken away from us. There are multitudes of things that we do that are of no earthly or heavenly value. Think about where you spend your time and on what and evaluate what is most important in your life, Jesus or the things of the world?

"Now he who received seed among thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.." Matthew 13:22

It's true, the world has a lot to care about with its politics and war, disasters and recessions, it is like riding a roller coaster of worry and fear, all the more important to sit at the feet of Jesus who told us not to fear or worry. That is what Martha was doing, busy about things that seemed necessary to her but not nearly as important as hearing the word of the Lord! Mary on the other hand according to Jesus chose the good part which was storing up for her treasure in Heaven.

So, where's your treasure, whats valuable to you, a secure relationship with the King of all kings or a pile of rusty treasure on earth, subject to be stolen or lost? Millions have worked and struggled for the security of the world all of their lives only to die spiritually bankrupt, never storing up any of the true treasure reserved for those who sat at the feet of Jesus!

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6:33

"It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a den of thieves.' " Matthew 21:13

As I was writing the "Message of the Month" about the Abomination of Desolation, the Holy Spirit spoke to me about His house being a house of prayer. I have always thought about this scripture as being for the church building where the modern-day assembly of believers meet, but the Holy Spirit reminded me that we are the temple and spiritual house of God!

If we are God's house, then prayer is communication and holy communion with Him, not a place to go, but His own residence in us.  Being modern day believers we have been led to believe that church is a place to go, but it is not, it is a "Person" to be! We are the expression of the Lord Jesus Christ in the earth and we don't attend a building or service, we attend to Him with spiritual service and sacrifice holy to the Lord! The old was destroyed and the new was established so that He could continue to walk this earth healing all oppressed by the devil through His spiritual houses of prayer in us!

I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1

There is no longer an earthly temple of stone, nor a human priest to make intersession, nor rituals to attend once a week, nor traditions to keep, nor laws to follow, because we are a holy priesthood of God, called to sacrifice our lives for Him and to expand a supernatural kingdom on the earth. We are the temple, the priest, His body and His laws are held within our heart. We are no longer bound to men with their traditions, rituals and schedules, we are called as a holy nation to ever make intersession for Him, to minister before Him as His priesthood and to walk as He walked, filled with His Holy Spirit.

We as His body of believers, washed in His blood and filled with His Spirit have been deceived by ignorant men steeped in tradition who have held the church captive through guilt and shame to promote their fleshly agendas and build their earthly kingdoms. This is the reason that death has entered these man-made temples of doom, consumer driven, and spectator motivated they draw millions of unsuspecting sheep to fill their cathedrals of complacency and ultimately put them to sleep in a sermon induced coma! If you have been trapped, escape, flee for your spiritual lives before its too late into the arms of your heavenly Father who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light!

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. I Peter 2:9,10
