APPROPRIATING THE PROMISES OF GOD
For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Colossians 1:9
The knowledge of His will is one of the keys to appropriating the promises of God. All believers who have been born again believe that Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood to wash away their sins and forgave them all their iniquities, but many have a problem believing He also healed all of their diseases.
We are saved by grace through faith by believing in the atonement: the death burial and resurrection of our Lord, then why don't we believe He also healed all of our diseases and carried away our sicknesses? We are saved by faith and we are healed by faith, there is no difference between salvation and healing, Jesus was crucified for our sins and sicknesses before the foundation of the world!
Because of tradition, doctrine and denomination the benefits of God's kingdom have become clouded and in some cases taught that they somehow passed away, but no one can deny what Jesus actually did on the cross. Jesus took upon Himself our sins, transgressions and iniquities and has borne our sicknesses, pain and disease to give us a complete and perfect salvation! Praise be to God!
Surely He has borne our sicknesses and carried away our sorrows (pain); yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten (struck down) by God, and afflicted, but He was wounded (pierced through) for our transgressions, He was bruised (crushed) for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes (blows that cut) we are healed. Isaiah 53:4,5
