For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. II Corinthians 1:20

There are thousands of promises in the word of God, all for us as believers to appropriate into our lives. To appropriate is to take possession of something as in the promises of God, but to possess them, one must believe they belong to them. You can quote scripture out loud, yell at the devil and claim all the promises of God, but if you don't believe they belong to you it is to no avail!

We as believers must admit that praying for healing, signs, wonders and miracles is a hit and miss situation for us at best. When we look at the gospel we see multitudes coming to Jesus and no one was turned away and it looks as if everyone was healed or delivered from whatever ailed them. They didn't go off proclaiming the Word, confessing their healing or naming and claiming their miracle, they simply asked, believed and received, so why doesn't it work for us?

There are several reasons that I believe we are missing the mark of which I will attempt to explain in these upcoming devotional teachings. We are Christ's body, to be His representation and ambassadors here on the earth, given all power and authority and having the keys that unlock the power of Heaven's glory!

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption (depravity) that is in the world through lust. II Peter 1:2-4
