Abomination of Desolation

"Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains." Matthew 24:15,16

The "Abomination of desolation" has always seemed to be a mystery, although the modern day church has it all figured out, saying that it is the quot;Anti-Christ" standing in the holy place, meaning the temple in Jerusalem, which by the way, does not exist, proclaiming himself as God!

Now granted, maybe the Jews will in fact rebuild the temple and the Anti-Christ will come and stand in it proclaiming to be God, but what if that is not what Daniel nor the Lord Jesus Christ is saying and what if it is in actuality a much different scenario? When unbelievers say they know all about the end times and the coming of the Lord, the rapture, tribulation and the mark of the beast, I wonder how they can see when they don't have spiritual eyes to see, only having heard all of this from the church

First of all if the Jews rebuild the temple it will not be a holy place and the Holy Spirit will not dwell there because we as the body of Christ are the temple of God! In the Greek, abomination means to be disgusted, to detest or idolatry and desolation means to make desolate or to come to nought (zero with the rim kicked off) or a desert! Anti-Christ means to be against Christ, which means anointed or anointed One, so with this in mind what do we have in regards to all of this end-time prophecy and what does it mean for us who are the temple of the Holy Spirit

Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? I Corinthians 6:19

Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In comparison with it, is it not in your eyes as nothing? (nought) Haggai 2:3     It seems the church is always looking back or into the future, especially when it comes to prophecies concerning them being sucked out in a rapture or having to persevere through tribulation, but lets look at whats happening now! This is fact for all believers and I am not a prophet nor a seer but I do have spiritual eyes to see what is happening to the church of the Lord Jesus Christ!

One of the main reasons for the "Abomination that makes desolate" is the demonically inspired model and current design of the modern day church. It was never intended that a pastor oversee the sheep in the manner that most do today, keeping "Their" sheep locked up in a religious box, feeding them mush, tradition and making them conform by leading them in abusive rituals, such as walking isles and praying the "Sinner's prayer" to be saved, baptizing them even though they don't know the Lord, heaping guilt on them in order to get them to tithe, and shaming them if they don't attend on Sunday!

The result of all of this man-made, man-centered religious tradition is a dead and lifeless valley of dry bones, a virtual desert of fleshly works that has produced a stench in the nostrils of a holy God! The model displayed by the Lord Jesus and the "Five-fold ministry" has been ignored and is totally foreign to most believers who themselves are ill-advised, un-trained, un-equipped and ignorant of the scriptures, being held captive by a brood of idolatrous leaders, also ill-advised and untrained!

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world and not according to Christ. Colossians 2:8

"Stand in the gate of the Lord's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, 'Hear the word of the Lord all of you of Judah who enter in at these gates to worship the Lord!' " Jeremiah 7:2

The temple of the Lord is no longer a building, although many would have you believe it is God's house, containing His presence and holy to all those who would enter. The truth is, we are the temple and the Holy Spirit dwells in us, not a physical building. We are the body and only expression of the Lord Jesus Christ the world will ever see!

God's holy presence abides in us whether two or three or by ourselves, He is in us and we are in Him! Christ in us is truly the hope of glory for us and for a world lost and falling headlong into the pits of Hell! When Jesus took the twelve and trained them, He didn't call twelve pastors because if He had they would have never gone into the world with the gospel, having rented a building and copied what the Jews already had, a dead and lifeless religion of works stuck in a building! No, He chose men who would become apostles whom He could deposit His very life in, knowing that the life would be the light of men and would spread around the world.

When Jesus suddenly appeared at the temple as the scriptures had prophesied He rebuked them for their hardness of heart and overturned the tables of the money changers and drove them out saying, "My house shall be a house of prayer!" The old was about to die with its priests, tradition and rituals and the new was about to begin with the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. A new and living way had begun with the shedding of His blood and a human temple was established when the Holy Spirit descended upon His followers at Pentecost and His body was transformed into, "New creations, born from above in Him!"

Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. I Peter 2:4,5
